Opening a company
Starting a business in Slovenia is a relatively quick process, but it requires some key decisions and the right sequence of steps. A good start means fewer complications later, so it is important to understand what awaits you from the beginning.
The process of opening a business
The first step is to choose the appropriate business form. Most often, entrepreneurs choose an s.p. (self-employment) or a d.o.o. (limited liability company).
Before registrering, it is necessary to determine the company name, registered office, activities (SKD codes), and the date of commencement of operations. For a d.o.o., initial share capital (€7,500) is also required, while for an s.p., it is not.
The company registers at SPOT (in person or electronically). For a limited liability company (d.o.o.), the procedure is slightly longer due to the articles of incorporation and registration in the court register.
Registration does not end the process. For opening a company, it is necessary to arrange a business bank account, tax regulations (e.g., standardized or classic s.p.), mandatory insurance, taxes and accounting. These are the steps where we offer full support for a successful start of your business.
When a company starts operating, regular obligations arise: submitting reports, paying taxes and contributions, and maintaining documentation. These processes are essential for a sucessfull and trouble free operation of your business.
Why professional help is useful
Although the process of starting a business is formal, in practice questions and dilemmas often arise. Professional support helps you choose the right business form, properly arrange taxes and obligations, and start your business with a solid foundation.
